Membership In The Society For Pediatric Urology
Membership is open to pediatric urologists, urologists, and physicians with an interest in the field of pediatric urology, based on the following criteria.
To ensure that your application is processed at this year's Annual Meeting, please complete the Online Application including all attachments no later than February 1, 2013.
Categories Of Membership
Active Membership | Apply Online
- Urologists who have an interest in pediatric urology
- Membership in either the American Urological Association or the Royal College of Surgeons.
- Evidence of ABU or Royal College of Surgeons certification, along with evidence of training and an active
interest in the field of pediatric urology.
- Requirements for Active Membership
- Completed Application, including one (1) SPU sponsor member and two (2) SPU endorsing members.
- Current CV
- Operative Case Log (from immediate past 24 months)

Already a Candidate member of the SPU? Upgrade to Active membership.
Corresponding Membership | Apply Online
- Pediatric urologists who do not qualify as Active members because they do not belong to either the AUA or
the Royal College of Surgeons.
- Requirements for Corresponding Membership
- Completed Application, including one (1) SPU sponsor member and two (2) SPU endorsing members.
- Current CV
Affiliate Membership | Apply Online
- Those who are not pediatric urologists but who have contributed to the field of pediatric urology.
- Requirements for Affiliate Membership
- Completed Application, including one (1) SPU sponsor member and two (2) SPU endorsing members.
- Current CV
Candidate Membership | Apply Online
- Urologists currently enrolled in an accredited Pediatric Urology Training Program, or who have recently
completed a Pediatric Urology Fellowship or Training Program, and are board eligible in Urology.
- Requirements for Candidate Membership
- Completed Application, including one (1) SPU sponsor member, preferably applicant’s current Program
Director
- Evidence of training program and/or board eligibility.
Senior Membership
- Active Members in good standing who have attained the age of 65.
- Must request transfer to Senior Status.
Honorary Membership
- Periodically conferred at the discretion of the SPU leadership and elected by the SPU membership.
Please note that membership to the SPU is granted on an annual basis following the Annual Member Business Meeting. The next Business Meeting will be held in May, 2013 in San Diego, California. Applicants will be notified of their membership status in early June of 2013.
